Since opening in October 2013, Broadway Masala has earned four Michelin Guide recognitions for bringing authentic regional Indian cuisine to downtown Redwood City.
Our mission is to deliver authentic flavors and exceptional service, earning us the reputation as the best restaurant in Redwood City for lovers of Indian food.

For some, hospitality is just a profession. For Anupam, it is his calling. Passionate about food and hospitality from a young age, Anupam followed his heart, pursuing a successful career in the profession.
His journey began at Taj Ambassador New Delhi, where he honed his skills of successful restaurant operations. He was an integral part of the team that gave the iconic hotel a contemporary makeover.
With a dream to showcase the diversity of Indian cuisine globally, Anupam moved to the US in 2002. His culinary knowledge shaped the Indian restaurant scene in Denver, CO and Anchorage, AK. He later moved to California, where he contributed to the success of the leading Indian restaurant chain Amber India, working as Restaurant General Manager till 2013.
After 27 years in the restaurant industry, Anupam took a leap of faith and opened Broadway Masala in Redwood City. Known for its gourmet Indian cuisine made with seasonal ingredients and local produce, it quickly earned a reputation as the best Indian restaurant in Redwood City, with Michelin Guide recommendations in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
In 2014, he expanded to Beverly Hills, launching Spice Affair on the city’s prestigious Restaurant Row — one of the largest Indian dining experiences in Southern California.
Continuing his culinary journey, Anupam opened Aurum in downtown Los Altos in 2020, a modern Indian restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide 2021.
His restaurants reflect a passion for authentic flavors, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.

"Chef Dev Raj began his culinary journey in Dharamshala, learning authentic Indian and Tibetan-infused Indo-Chinese cuisine from local homemakers. He moved to Delhi to master the city's iconic street food, while also studying Mughlai cuisine—the rich, flavorful style rooted in the Mughal Empire that blends Indian, Persian, and Central Asian traditions.
Chef Dev Raj's acclaimed "Delhi 6" food festival showcased these authentic flavors across China, South Korea, and prestigious New Delhi hotels. His passion and expertise shine through in Broadway Masala's diverse menu, depth of flavor, and commitment to authentic North Indian cuisine."
